What's Around

Want to inject a little excitement into your life? Change your outlook by changing your surroundings. And that’s very easy to do in this corner of the PNW.

Semiahmoo

Lucky you! When you want to get away from it all, you don't have to go far. Just down the street,  you'll find year-round activities for all ages in Semiahmoo. Go across the street and you can also play a round on the Arnold Palmer golf course at Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club. Just further down the street by the marina, there are even more things to do from the Semiahmoo Resort.

Your hometown: Blaine, Washington.

Blaine is the sort of small town people dream of. We have a historic downtown harbor, piers for fishing, restaurants, and outdoor adventure galore.

IMAGINATION. EXPLORATION. INSPIRATION.

Vancouver

Just an hour to the north, Vancouver, BC, is one of North America’s great cities with thriving art, music, and theater scenes. Take a carriage ride through Stanley Park. Visit the Queen Elizabeth Quarry Gardens. Learn about First Nations at the Museum of Anthropology. Or wander the maze at VanDusen Botanical Garden.

Seattle

Seattle is the place to go for a dose of big city excitement. Paddle the Arboretum. Explore the sights and smells of Pike Place Market. Ride the Seattle Needle. Get inspired at the Museum of Pop Culture. And be sure to catch a Mariners game (our favorite reason to go to Seattle).

Bellingham

Head south if you want to catch a ferry to Alaska! Visit Bellingham’s historic Fairhaven District for local artisan pieces that you can find only here. Spend an afternoon in one of the city’s 17 craft breweries (and several are dog- and kid-friendly!) And be sure to catch the sunset as you drive along scenic Chuckanut Drive, the only place where the Cascade Mountains meet the sea.

San Juan Islands

Of the 128 named San Juan Islands, four are accessible by the Washington state ferry system: Lopez Island, Shaw Island, Orcas Island, and San Juan Island. Head down to Anacortes and board a ferry headed for rocky coastlines and sandy beaches, small coastal towns, kayaking adventures, and Orca-sighting expeditions.
